L&rsquo;occasion de voir une dizaine de films repr\u00e9sentatifs du cin\u00e9ma ind\u00e9pendant du sous-continent dans le cadre prestigieux du Grand Rex.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"chapo\" itemprop=\"description\">\n\t\t<em>Double-cliquez sur les photos pour les visualiser en plein \u00e9cran.<\/em>\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tAlors que dans l&rsquo;esprit du grand public, \u00ab\u00a0cin\u00e9ma indien\u00a0\u00bb est encore souvent synonyme de \u00ab\u00a0films Bollywood\u00a0\u00bb, la mont\u00e9e en puissance des films d&rsquo;auteurs se confirme d&rsquo;ann\u00e9e en ann\u00e9e. Des films bien \u00e9loign\u00e9s des m\u00e9los chant\u00e9s et dans\u00e9s qui font la particularit\u00e9 &#8211; et parfois, dans le meilleur des cas, le charme &#8211; du cin\u00e9ma commercial de Bombay. En prise directe sur les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s sociales du pays, ce cin\u00e9ma ind\u00e9pendant, souvent de grande qualit\u00e9, permet au spectateur occidental d&rsquo;en d\u00e9couvrir des aspects qui lui sont normalement inaccessibles.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tLes films d&rsquo;auteur ont certes toujours exist\u00e9 en Inde mais leur \u00e9mergence quantitative et qualitative, accompagn\u00e9e parfois de vrais succ\u00e8s commerciaux, est r\u00e9cente. Malheureusement, ces films sont encore tr\u00e8s peu distribu\u00e9s en France. Mis \u00e0 part des exceptions comme <em>The lunchbox <\/em>ou <em>Sir, <\/em>que l&rsquo;on peut assimiler plus ou moins \u00e0 ce mouvement, un tout petit nombre de ces films fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une diffusion confidentielle dans quelques cin\u00e9-clubs. D&rsquo;o\u00f9 l&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat d&rsquo;un festival comme le FFAST qui apporte une fois par an une moisson de trouvailles en provenance d&rsquo;Inde et des pays limitrophes.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tApr\u00e8s un <a href=\"https:\/\/asialyst.com\/fr\/2019\/02\/06\/inde-nepal-pakistan-bangladesh-festival-film-asie-du-sud-cinema-independant\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">tr\u00e8s bon cru 2019<\/a>, l&rsquo;\u00e9dition 2020 s&rsquo;annonce \u00e9galement prometteuse. On y suit un gar\u00e7on de treize ans qui fuit son \u00eele de l&rsquo;archipel des Laquedives \u00e0 la recherche de son fr\u00e8re a\u00een\u00e9 dans les bas-fonds de Bombay (Mumbai). <em>\u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est un film noir, une qu\u00eate qui nous plonge dans un milieu tr\u00e8s sombre\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> affirme Floriane Zaslavsky. Un policier d\u00e9butant affronte un tueur \u00e0 la hache et se retrouve confront\u00e9 \u00e0 un dilemme moral : alors qu&rsquo;il tient sa proie en joue, doit-il tirer, l&rsquo;arr\u00eater ou bien la laisser partir ? Bombay toujours pour le film de cl\u00f4ture, <em>Gully Boy. <\/em>Destin\u00e9 au grand public, ce film, qui a remport\u00e9 un grand succ\u00e8s en Inde, suit l&rsquo;ascension sociale d&rsquo;un jeune rappeur issu de Dharavi, le grand bidonville situ\u00e9 au c\u0153ur de la capitale financi\u00e8re du pays. Au-del\u00e0 de son contenu musical, <em>Gully Boy <\/em>\u00e9voque aussi des questions comme les probl\u00e9matiques urbaines, les rapports entre musulmans et hindous, etc.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tAutre exemple de film noir \u2013 au sens propre puisqu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un film en noir et blanc : <em>Cat Sticks, <\/em>venu du Bengale-Occidental. Situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Calcutta, il suit divers toxicomanes dans leur qu\u00eate d&rsquo;h\u00e9ro\u00efne. Un film dur, l\u00e0 encore, mais <em>\u00ab\u00a0formellement assez impressionnant : photographe \u00e0 la base, le r\u00e9alisateur adopte d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment la m\u00eame lumi\u00e8re et le m\u00eame type de photographie que le chef op\u00e9rateur de Satyajit Ray avec de tr\u00e8s forts contrastes entre le noir et le blanc\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> affirme Floriane Zaslavsky. (Cr\u00e9dit : FFAST)\t\t<\/figcaption>\n\t<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tToujours au chapitre des m\u00e9gapoles, Delhi sert de cadre \u00e0 <em>Taking the horse to eat jalebis : <\/em>bas\u00e9 sur des interviews de travailleurs migrants install\u00e9s dans la capitale indienne, le film \u00e9voque \u00e0 la fois leurs vies et leurs r\u00eaves, basculant ainsi dans le fantastique.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tUne petite s\u00e9lection de trois films est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e sous l&rsquo;intitul\u00e9 <em>\u00ab\u00a0Bandits\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em> Outre <em>Monsoon shootout <\/em>d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9voqu\u00e9, y figure <em>Bandit queen, <\/em>un film de 1994 consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 Phoolan Devi, la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <em>\u00ab\u00a0reine des bandits\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> de l&rsquo;Uttar Pradesh, et surtout <em>Sholay. <\/em>Ce film de 1975 est un v\u00e9ritable monument : sans doute le plus populaire de toute l&rsquo;histoire du cin\u00e9ma indien, projet\u00e9 sans interruption des dizaines d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es durant, son histoire polici\u00e8re a tout du western.
