Les deux principaux acteurs du march\u00e9, Ofo et Mobike, mettent \u00e0 disposition plus de 11 millions de bicyclettes \u00e0 travers les principales m\u00e9tropoles chinoises. Mais malgr\u00e9 des investissements records, la viabilit\u00e9 du mod\u00e8le \u00e9conomique est toujours en question. Il reste notamment \u00e0 r\u00e9inventer et simplifier la mobilit\u00e9 du dernier kilom\u00e8tre.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tLes v\u00e9los oranges et acier chrom\u00e9 de Mobike et les v\u00e9los jaunes canari d\u2019Ofo submergent d\u00e9sormais les trottoirs chinois. A tel point qu\u2019il en devient parfois difficile de se frayer un chemin \u00e0 la sortie des stations de m\u00e9tro ou des centres commerciaux. \u00c9quip\u00e9s d\u2019un cadenas connect\u00e9 et d\u2019un GPS, l\u2019utilisateur peut les g\u00e9olocaliser et les d\u00e9verrouiller en scannant un QR-code via une application mobile. Sans station d\u2019accueil fixe, \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence des syst\u00e8mes europ\u00e9ens du type V\u00e9lib&rsquo;, il est possible de prendre et de d\u00e9poser les bicyclettes \u00e0 n\u2019importe quel endroit. Cette simplicit\u00e9 d\u2019usage, conjugu\u00e9e \u00e0 un coup de location particuli\u00e8rement bas (entre 0,5 et 1 yuan la demi-heure, soit de 6 \u00e0 12 centimes d&rsquo;euro), a rapidement convaincu les citadins chinois de se r\u00e9approprier \u00ab\u00a0la petite reine\u00a0\u00bb qui avait pratiquement disparue des grandes villes.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\t<div class=\"bulle\">\n\t*Source : Alipay 2016.<\/div>La rapidit\u00e9 d\u2019adoption de cette solution de mobilit\u00e9 partag\u00e9e tient en grande partie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me num\u00e9rique chinois, principalement centr\u00e9 sur les services \u00e0 la demande. Commander un repas, un taxi, payer ses factures ou son loyer, tout est accessible en quelques clics depuis son mobile (principalement via l&rsquo;application WeChat). Pas moins de 65% des transactions en ligne se font sur mobile*. Payer en magasin en scannant un QR code est d\u00e9sormais un acte du quotidien.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<h2>Les deux supernovas du partage de v\u00e9lo<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\t<div class=\"bulle\">\n\t*Source : Bloomberg et TechCrunch.<\/div>Alors que Mobike a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de l\u2019avantage du primo-entrant sur le march\u00e9, sa premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de v\u00e9los a connu un relatif \u00e9chec li\u00e9 au design. Ce qui a aid\u00e9 son concurrent Ofo \u00e0 prendre l\u2019ascendant, en proposant des si\u00e8ges ajustables et un panier. Ofo domine aujourd\u2019hui avec 65% de part de march\u00e9. En deux ans, cette start-up a mis \u00e0 disposition plus de 6,5 millions de v\u00e9los. Elle compte 100 millions d\u2019utilisateurs et annonce g\u00e9rer un pic de 25 millions de trajets quotidiens pour un chiffre d\u2019affaire journalier moyen de 10 millions de yuans (plus d&rsquo;1,2 millions d&rsquo;euros). D\u2019ici \u00e0 fin 2017, l\u2019objectif est de porter le parc \u00e0 20 millions de v\u00e9los et de couvrir 200 villes dans 20 pays. Mobike suit de pr\u00e8s avec plus de 6 millions de v\u00e9los et l\u2019ambition de porter sa couverture \u00e0 plus de 100 villes d\u2019ici la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e*. Ces deux start-ups sont chacune valoris\u00e9es \u00e0 plus de deux milliards de dollars.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tFace \u00e0 ce duopole, la trentaine de concurrents dont Bluegogo, Ubike, Xiaoming Bike ou Youon n\u2019ont que peu de marge de man\u0153uvre. Leur plus faible parc de v\u00e9los ne permet pas une couverture g\u00e9ographique optimale, diminuant d\u2019autant la valeur d\u2019usage pour les clients.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<h2>Des effets r\u00e9seaux massifs<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tCette croissance exponentielle d\u2019Ofo et de Mobike est une manifestation des effets r\u00e9seaux massifs structurant les mod\u00e8les d\u2019innovation chinois. L\u2019avantage concurrentiel repose sur la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9largir le nombre et la couverture g\u00e9ographique du parc de bicyclettes pour mieux satisfaire les besoins des utilisateurs. La valeur d\u2019usage du service est en effet proportionnelle \u00e0 l\u2019abondance des v\u00e9los disponibles : plus ils sont nombreux, plus les besoins clients peuvent \u00eatre satisfaits (en tout lieu et \u00e0 tout moment). La valeur d\u2019usage est ainsi une fonction croissante de l\u2019abondance (voir la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Loi_de_Metcalfe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">loi de Metcalfe<\/a>).\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tDepuis leur cr\u00e9ation il y a deux ans, Ofo et Mobike ont chacun lev\u00e9 plus d\u2019un milliard de dollars. Parmi les investisseurs se trouvent les grands noms du num\u00e9rique chinois avec Alibaba soutenant Ofo et Tencent apportant son concours \u00e0 Mobike.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<h2>Un mod\u00e8le de profitabilit\u00e9 encore \u00e0 valider<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tMais il n\u2019est pas certain que cette course \u00e0 l\u2019effet taille soit soutenable. L\u2019afflux massif d\u2019investissements ne saurait occulter le fait que le mod\u00e8le de <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Indice_de_profitabilit\u00e9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">profitabilit\u00e9<\/a> est \u00ab\u00a0incertain\u00a0\u00bb. Les donn\u00e9es de mobilit\u00e9 pourraient constituer une r\u00e9serve de revenus, potentiellement sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la valeur locative. La connaissance pr\u00e9cise des trajets quotidiens permis par cette solution de mobilit\u00e9 du dernier kilom\u00e8tre, autorise en effet un ciblage publicitaire contextualis\u00e9.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tAu-del\u00e0 de ce mod\u00e8le d\u2019exploitation de la donn\u00e9e, la profitabilit\u00e9 d\u00e9pend principalement de la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 contenir \u00e0 la fois les co\u00fbts d\u2019acquisition client (promotions) et les co\u00fbts techniques li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019exploitation du parc de v\u00e9los. Dans ce contexte, une fusion des deux leaders du march\u00e9 aurait l\u2019avantage de mettre un terme \u00e0 la guerre des prix et de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des \u00e9conomies d\u2019\u00e9chelle massives. On peut faire le parall\u00e8le avec Didi, la plateforme de v\u00e9hicules avec chauffeur, qui en 2016 a absorb\u00e9 son concurrent Uber. La guerre commerciale \u00e9tait alors sans merci, la branche chinoise d\u2019Uber perdant plus d&rsquo;un milliard de dollars par an.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n\t\tAu-del\u00e0 des v\u00e9los en libre partage, c\u2019est tout un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de mobilit\u00e9 \u00e0 la demande qui est appel\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9merger.
