Pour plaire, il faut confirmer ce que tout le monde veut entendre, \u00eatre au service des id\u00e9es re\u00e7ues. Le <em>kitsch<\/em>, c&rsquo;est la traduction de la b\u00eatise des id\u00e9es re\u00e7ues dans le langage de la beaut\u00e9 et de l\u2019\u00e9motion. Il nous arrache des larmes d\u2019attendrissement sur nous-m\u00eames, sur les banalit\u00e9s que nous pensons et sentons. C\u2019est l\u2019\u00e9quivalent du <em>kitsch<\/em>.  Tout ce qui \u00e9vacue le <em>bu shu fu<\/em> (\u4e0d\u8212\u670d)\uff0cc\u2019est-\u00e0-dire ce qui d\u00e9range et ce qui met mal-\u00e0-l\u2019aise. <\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9finition du <em>kitsch<\/em> de Milan Kundera vaut largement pour le <em>ke-a\u00ef<\/em>. C\u2019est Hello Kitty et Cie ; autrement dit, le principe esth\u00e9tico-commercial qui exploite les bons sentiments pour accro\u00eetre les ventes, Bisounours et petits c\u0153urs, du d\u00e9sir d\u00e9pourvu de libido, de l\u2019\u00e9rotisme asexu\u00e9&#8230; La formule du <em>ke-a\u00ef<\/em>, bien connue, est justement au c\u0153ur des \u0153uvres de Chen Hua-Chun (\u9673\u83ef\u4fca), un graveur ta\u00efwanais invit\u00e9 \u00e0 exposer dans la galerie de l\u2019Atelier de la rue des Cascades (dirig\u00e9 par Raul Velasco et Kristin Meller). <\/p>\n<p>Le <em>ke-a\u00ef<\/em>, c\u2019est le dindon de la farce et Hua-Chun lui tort le cou. <\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame s\u2019il est question d\u2019amour, l\u2019univers de Hua-Chun n\u2019est pas rose. Le N&#038;B domine ses gravures et s\u2019il y a un petit cochon, il est plut\u00f4t SM. Son exposition \u00ab\u00a0Love Like Jazz\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9sente une s\u00e9rie de linogravures qui d\u00e9clinent en effet une m\u00eame obsession. Cela ne veut pas dire qu\u2019il est vulgaire. Il n\u2019est tout simplement pas allusif. \n<p>En cela, il d\u00e9passe l\u2019alternative de la tradition chinoise qui oscille entre m\u00e9taphore et gyn\u00e9cologie. Soit la d\u00e9cence oblige \u00e0 \u00e9voquer les choses de l\u2019amour par la bande, la m\u00e9taphore se charge alors de jeter un voile pudique sur la crudit\u00e9, comme dans les <em>Chroniques de l\u2019\u00e9trange<\/em> (\u804a\u9f4b\u5fd7\u7570) de Pu Songling (\u84b2\u677e\u9886). Soit la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 \u00e9ducative propose \u00e0 l\u2019intention des jeunes femmes qui viennent de se marier des manuels didactiques agr\u00e9ment\u00e9s d\u2019images avec force d\u00e9tails anatomiques comme dans les <em>chun gong tu<\/em> (\u6625\u5bae\u5716). <\/p>\n<p>Contrairement \u00e0 cette double tendance, Hua-Chun exprime le d\u00e9sir de mani\u00e8re esth\u00e9tique mais non-allusive. La bandaison a beau \u00eatre explicite et exub\u00e9rante, elle cultive l\u2019\u00e9quivoque. Un <em>coraz\u00f3n<\/em> cintr\u00e9 dans un string, saucissonn\u00e9 de barbel\u00e9s, alt\u00e9r\u00e9 par une ceinture clout\u00e9e, figure une silhouette androgyne. Les gravures de Hua-Chun sont grav\u00e9es avec toutes les nuances de plaisir et de cruaut\u00e9 propre \u00e0 la po\u00e9sie du d\u00e9sir. Il ne faut pas n\u00e9cessairement y voir du cynisme. Un coup d\u2019\u0153il circulaire et superficiel ne manquera pas de s\u2019arr\u00eater sur ce pr\u00e9puce singuli\u00e8rement c\u00e9r\u00e9br\u00e9. On rapprochera certainement, avec un sentiment de d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able d\u00e9j\u00e0-vu, les gravures de Hua-Chun de cette c\u00e9l\u00e8bre caricature de Freud intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0What\u2019s in the man mind\u00a0\u00bb qui tr\u00f4ne fr\u00e9quemment sur les pr\u00e9sentoirs des bouquinistes et on aura l\u2019impression d\u2019avoir tout compris. \n<p>Critique convenue du pansexualisme de la th\u00e9orie freudienne, r\u00e9duite \u00e0 la formule <em>\u00ab\u00a0l\u2019homme pense avec son sexe et toute action humaine est le produit de cette pens\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Cette d\u00e9couverte a fait long feu et ce n\u2019est pas le propos de Chen Hua-Chun.<\/p>\n<p>On peut toujours venir avec ces concepts et voir dans ses motifs \u00e0 cinq p\u00e9tales la fleur de chanvre rebaptis\u00e9e par Rabelais <em>Pentagruelion<\/em>, ou voir encore dans ces \u00e9vocations florales une influence de Henri Matisse ou mieux reconna\u00eetre une \u00e9ni\u00e8me adaptation du mythe de l\u2019androgyne platonicien\u2026 Kristin Meller (qui dirige avec Raul Velasco l\u2019Atelier de la rue des Cascades) n\u2019a pas tort quand elle proteste contre cette tendance abusive \u00e0 projeter ses propres sch\u00e9mas d\u2019analyse. Il est plus juste de dire que Matisse a \u00e9t\u00e9 influenc\u00e9 par l\u2019estampe japonaise que l\u2019inverse. <\/p>\n<p>De fait, Hua-Chun foule pour la premi\u00e8re fois le sol de l\u2019Europe. C\u2019est son premier voyage en France. Comme beaucoup de Ta\u00efwanais, c\u2019est plut\u00f4t le Japon et la Chine qui dominent ses repr\u00e9sentations. M\u00eame s\u2019il a fait des \u00e9tudes d\u2019art et qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 initi\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019art contemporain occidental \u2013 notamment sous la houlette des graveurs Wu Shi-Zhu (\u5433\u77f3\u67f1) et Liu Xiu-Ping (\u5ed6\u4fee\u5e73) qui sont tous deux pass\u00e9s par le fameux Atelier 17 fond\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris par Hayter \u2013 il a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une technique et une expression parfaitement originale. <\/p>\n<p>S\u2019il y a influence esth\u00e9tique, elle est plus s\u00fbrement japonaise. <\/p>\n<p>Il reconna\u00eet volontiers sa fascination pour le trait des grands ma\u00eetres du manga comme Miura Kentaro (\u4e09\u6d66\u5efa\u592a\u90ce). Il est vrai qu\u2019une partie du plaisir esth\u00e9tique vient bien s\u00fbr de ce jeu de reconnaissance semi-divinatoire des influences r\u00e9ciproques. <\/p>\n<p>Le critique se prend au jeu enfantin des ressemblances et des diff\u00e9rences et parfois, il voit juste. Ce qui est s\u00fbr, c\u2019est que l\u2019esth\u00e9tique <em>anti-kea\u00ef<\/em> qui caract\u00e9rise ses gravures, condamne Hua-chun dans son  pays \u00e0 l\u2019ostracisme.
